I'm tired and I want nothing more than to go to bed. But I'm trying to finish up my pre-work so I can dive into working first thing in the a.m. Doesn't explain why I'm typing in our blog instead of the pre-work, eh? Procrastination. I really am not in any mood to work. I'm tired, it's been a busy day, and like I said, I want nothing more than to dive under the covers and conk out. Ah well...
So, allow me my little procrastination. I'll update you on the Loganator. He had a checkup on Thursday morning. I had been worried about his weight since we stopped giving him cow milk (drinking rice, soy, etc milks now). Didn't have to. The boy grew like a weed these past 3 months. Gained over a pound (24 lbs 14 oz) and grew over 2" (33" tall exactly). His lean little body is nothing more than a high energy always on the GO GO GO fast metabolism whirlwind of a boy body. Poor baby had three shots... And now he has to go back in next month for another "round" - a second flu shot to follow up yesterday's. Ugh. The TEARS yesterday... Breaks a mommy's heart.
And speaking of tears breaking mommy's heart... Ava had a complete meltdown before school today. On the walk up our street to the bus stop, she gripped my hand and told me she didn't want to go to school. I tried to calm her down, give her hugs and love, etc. The second she saw the bus, it was over. Tears pouring down her cheeks, clinging to me like never before. I scooped her up and physically had to put her on the bus. Even then, she clung. Crying her eyes out, hysterically telling me she didn't want to go to school. I almost cried myself, but kept strong for her. Of course, after school? She pops off the bus like nothing ever happened, having had a good day at school. Never mind that she had upset her sister (Michaela ended up worrying about Michaela all the way to her school, at the very least) and broke her mommy's heart, making ME worry about her AND her sister... Tra la la la la la laaaa... Skipped the way home. Found out Daddy was home and burst up the front steps. *sigh* Kids.
Yes, Daddy was home on a Friday. Daddy probably didn't want to be home, given the option, but home he was. He's doing well, keeping relaxed, and I think crashed early tonight. Good! Hopefully he can come to Michaela's soccer game tomorrow - we'll see how he's feeling.
Michaela - soccer - woo hoo!!! She was supposed to have her first game last weekend, but Hanna cancelled that for us with all of Her rain. Hopefully tomorrow will be a go. Can't wait to see her play! She is SO looking forward to this. I'll have camera in hand, naturally! On the school front, she's doing well and seems to be enjoying. Spelling test today - the words for this week she had gotten a 100% on at Monday's pre-test. Because of this, she had challenge words. These were not the 3 and 4 letter regular words - noooo... She had 5 and 6 letter words to spell. Fabric, picnic, plastic, rabbit, etc. We studied hard together last night and she thinks she did pretty good. We'll see! I told her no matter what, I'll be happy knowing she did her best. Those are some tough words for a 2nd grader!
Ok, it's getting later... I do need to wrap up pre-work and hit the sack. No more procrastinating... *sigh* Until later!
